Does weed help seizures?

When i was younger i used to get Absent seizures. At around the age of 14 i stopped getting them completely, but just yesterday I had a bad seizure when i was out eating lunch with my friends. At first i got really dizzy then i had trouble hearing and i also had a ringing in my ears. The next thing i remember i had my head down on the table and my friends were looking at me in fear. I had a very hard time talking and breathing. From what they told me my eyes rolled up and i was really sweaty. After i was soaked in sweat. The doctors told me it was lack of sleep, dehydration, and the fact that im not eating right ( I'm a vegetarian) Anyways my questions is does weed help. I've always smoked pot since i was 17 i am now 19. Please no hate comments im not interested, i just want to know.
