Friend and eating disorder?

It does seem as if he had a disorder given that he has been hospitalized. He sounds as if he needed constant external affirmations. He has low self confidence, but it might be a phase related to growing up. His basic social skills are low. Regarding eating disorder, he has a group of problems; among them might be an eating disorder.
