Monistat 7 burns when coming out!?

I've been taking Monistat 7 for the last 4 days for a diagnosed yeast infection.....and when i insert the medicine before bed it doesn't really burn but the next day when the medicine starts to come out it burns my vaginas lips pretty bad making them red and irritated....I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? And does this mean its working or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ^.^
